FOOTBALL: Perfect start for Ilminster Town

ILMINSTER Town got the 2016-17 season off in perfect fashion yesterday (Saturday, August 14, 2016) with a 1-0 victory at Burnham United in Division One West of the Somerset County League.
The all-important goal came early on in proceedings when Dan Smith netted with just two minutes having been played.
The Blues will be looking to make it two wins from two outings next weekend when they play host to Cleeve West Town at their new Archie Gooch Pavilion headquarters on Saturday (August 20, 2016).
It will be their first competitive game at their new HQ at Britten’s Field and they will be hoping to make sure it is a winning start.
Cleeve West Town lost their opening game of the season when they went down 2-1 at Combe St Nicholas.
They will then be home again on Saturday, August 27, 2016, when they entertain Minehead AFC.
