GOLF: Charity day with Ilminster Rotary Club

THE Ilminster Rotary Club will be holding a charity golf day later this summer in aid of the Horseshoes and Handprints group.
The golf day – based on a Stableford Competition with full handicap – is taking place on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Cricket St Thomas Golf Club.
It will cost £20 for visitors and £10 for Cricket St Thomas Golf Club members.
Tee-off times are from 7.30am to 3pm and bookable with the golf club’s professional on 01460-30231.
There will be special prizes on the day for ladies and the best senior.
Horseshoes and Handprints offers specialist therapy for adults and children with learning difficulties within Somerset which would otherwise not be available to them.
It provides sensory therapy and special riding for those who have behaviour and communication difficulties.
Close contact with horses has been shown to release stress within people with conditions such as Asperger’s, autism and neurological disorders. This is both beneficial to the individual, their families and carers.
