SOMERSET NEWS: Take care on the roads urge police

POLICE are reminding motorists of the need to drive with care on the roads this morning (Wednesday, May 11, 2016).
Heavy rain, fog, strong winds and surface water has resulted in poor visibility and difficult driving conditions on many of the roads in the Avon and Somerset Police area.
A police spokesman said: “There have been a number of collisions on the M5 motorway this morning and so we are urging people to drive sensibly and avoid sudden lane changes.
“Those who have to travel on the roads are also advised to plan their journey in advance, anticipate delays and also listen to news broadcasts and bulletins on local radio stations about closed roads or where there is severe traffic congestion.”
