ILMINSTER NEWS: Ouch! Waxing pain for playgroup funds

BRAVE "volunteers" at the Tesco store in Ilminster smiled their way through the pain barrier to help raise money for a local playgroup.
A number of male staff members at the store in Shudrick Lane were recently put forward - i.e. volunteered - to lie down on the treatment couch set up in the entrance foyer and undergo a spot of waxing with local beautician Cassie Dobbs having the fun of spreading out the hot wax on some hairy bits and then doing the honours of ripping off the wax strips!
But although the volunteers might not have appreciated the benefits of the modern-day torture treatment at the time – they were actually helping to raise money for Neroche Playgroup based at nearby Broadway with a collecting bucket placed at the foot of the treatment couch where shoppers could donate loose change.
The playgroup also had a fundraising stall outside the store.
Organisers would like to thank everyone who donated to Neroche Playgroup on the day.
