ILMINSTER NEWS: Jannine wins the Mayor’s Award 2016

THERE were tears all round when Jannine Cox was presented with the Mayor’s Award in recognition of her tireless contribution to both the young and old of Ilminster.
The Mayor of Ilminster, Cllr Rose Neave, presented the award to Jannine earlier tonight (Tuesday, April 19, 2016) at the annual community assembly held at Greenfylde First School.
“Jannine has always been there for others even through serious personal adversity,” said the Mayor. “She has been supporting the community without being noticed for asking or looking for recognition.
“I think it is often more important that these kinds of people are rewarded and appreciated for what they do - more so than those you see in the press every week.”
Jannine, who could not hold back the tears and was clearly shocked when her name was read out as the recipient of this year’s Mayor’s Award, works at the Hazelwell Lodge specialist care home in Ilminster.
The Mayor herself was clearly very emotional when presenting Jannine with the award.
