FOOTBALL: Work continues on Ilminster Town’s new HQ

OFFICIALS at Ilminster Town Football Club are confident that their new headquarters at Britten’s Field will be completed in May.
Work is progressing well and the building is very much beginning to take shape – as the photos show.
The club is planning on having an open day during the next month or so to allow members of the Ilminster Youth FC to go along and have a tour of the new Gooch Pavilion – as it will be called – with it nearing ever closer to be finished.
A club spokesman said: “It should – all being well and subject to weather – be finished by the middle part of May. We can’t wait to move in.”
When the building is up and running the plan is for it not to be just used by the football club, but become a facility to be used by the whole of the community and various groups.
