ILMINSTER NEWS: Tesco dives in to help swimming pool project

A TOMBOLA stall at the Tesco store has helped to raise £100 for the swimming pool appeal at Greenfylde First School in Ilminster.
The Tesco store’s community champion in Ilminster, Helena Jones, would like to thank everyone for their support of the tombola and all the other fundraising activities she organises.
A Greenfylde spokesman said they would also like to thank Helena and all the staff and customers at Tesco for their kind donation.
The covered pool is run by a committee of members of the Friends of Greenfylde School – more commonly known as FrOGS. The pool is currently closed for the winner and will re-open in April 2016.
But with all swimming pools it needs plenty of TLC and maintenance – hence why fundraising for the pool is paramount.
The pool is not just used by the pupils of Greenfylde First School for those all-important swimming lessons, but can be used – subject to times and days – by the community.
