ILMINSTER NEWS: Silver Street Dairy owner amazed at town’s community spirit

THE owner of the Silver Street Dairy – which has just reopened after suffering from bad flooding damage earlier this summer – has thanked the “wonderful community” of Ilminster for its support.
The shop in Silver Street officially reopened on Thursday (August 31, 2017) after being closed for repair work following the flooding back on July 23, 2017.
And owner Caroline Speke has been left hugely touched by the amazing response the shop’s reopening gained.
Caroline, speaking on social media, said: “I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to support us for our re-opening.
“We loved welcoming all our old and some new customers. It never fails to amaze me what a wonderful community we have in our small town and beyond.”
Caroline also thanked her staff – who she calls her Dairy Queens – for their continued support during the difficult past few weeks.
“Mega thanks for my Dairy Queens who, as usual, held the fort together far better than me,” she said. “You are both amazing staff, but fantastic friends as well.”
