SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Serious crash on Ilminster Bypass

EMERGENCY services have reported a bad accident on the A303 Ilminster Bypass on Thursday (April 6, 2017) morning.
The alarm was raised at just before 11.30am and two fire engines from Yeovil were mobilised following reports of a crash on the bypass.
Firefighters, on arrival, found one female trapped in one of the two vehicles involved.
They set to work with hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools to remove the female from the vehicle, while they also assisted the Ambulance Service with the treatment of a male casualty.
The Air Ambulance was also in attendance and the road will remain closed for a period of time.
Motorists are being advised to beware of the bypass being closed and to expect delays in that area.
