ILMINSTER NEWS: Runners and riders in Ilminster’s county council election

FIVE candidates have put themselves forward to fight for the Ilminster division at next month’s Somerset County Council election.
Linda Vijeh, of the Conservatives, who has been Ilminster’s representative at County Hall, will be hoping to serve another term by fending off the challenge of former Ilminster Mayor, Carol Goodall, who is standing for the Liberal Democrats.
Don Kinder will be flying the flag for the UK Independence Party, while Peter Lansdown of the Green Party and Ian Mackillop of Labour will also be hoping to win enough votes to get the nod of approval from Ilminster.
Voters go to the polls on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Anyone eligible to vote but not already on the electoral register has one week left to put that right - the deadline is midnight on Thursday, April 13, 2017.
You can do it online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or by contacting your local district council.
The Ilminster line-up at a glance is as follows: Ilminster Division: Carol Ann Goodall, Liberal Democrats; Don Kinder, UK Independence Party; Peter Lansdown, Green Party; Ian Rupert Mackillop, Labour; Linda Patricia Vijeh, Conservative.
