ILMINSTER NEWS: Kitchen fire at home in Herne Rise

FIREFIGHTERS were called out in the early hours of Saturday (March 4, 2017) morning following reports of a fire at a home in Ilminster.
The alarm was raised at just after midnight to the incident at a home in Herne Rise and one fire engine from Ilminster and two from Chard were mobilised, although when the first crew arrived at the scene the second fire engine from Chard was sent back.
Firefighters found that there had been a fire within the kitchen area of the semi-detached home, but was out by the time they had arrived.
Slight smoke damage had been caused the kitchen by a charger for LED lights.
The cause of the fire was “accidental” said a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
