SOMERSET NEWS: Grant boost for 22 youth clubs across the county

SOMERSET County Council has granted over £72,000 to 22 youth clubs across the county to help run popular activities.
The grants from the county council are being matched by over £151,000 in locally raised funding and hundreds of hours in volunteers’ time – all for the benefit of Somerset’s young people.
Cllr Frances Nicholson, the spokesman for children and families at Somerset County Council, said: “Somerset youth clubs are so valuable for our young people and I’m really pleased we have been able to offer them some support through grant funding.
“This will be an added boost to the continued hard work of numerous local volunteers and fundraisers who help these youth clubs to thrive.”
The clubs which will receive grants include:
Taunton Deane
• Café Random in Wiveliscombe will receive £3,800.
• Kingston St Mary Youth Group will receive £3,740.
Mendip
• Coleford Youth Club will receive £3,800.
• Frome Routes Drop-In will receive £3,800.
• Glastonbury Youth Club will receive £3,800.
• Pilton Youth Club will receive £2,630.
• Shepton Mallet Youth Club will receive £3,800.
• Stoke St Michael Youth Club will receive £1,260.
• Wells Connect Youth Club will receive £3,800.
Sedgemoor
• The Zone in Burnham on Sea will receive £3,680.
• Cannington Youth Club will receive £3,800.
• North Petherton Youth Club will receive £3,800.
South Somerset
• ArchiesXtra in Somerton will receive £3440.
• The Charltons Youth Club in Charlton Adam will receive £3,470.
• Hambridge & Westport Youth Club will receive £2,000.
• Hamdons Youth Group in Norton sub Hamdon will receive £1,960.
• Hamdons Youth Group in Stoke sub Hamdon will receive £3,550.
• Martock Youth Club will receive £3,800.
• Tintinhull Youth Club will receive £1,500.
West Somerset
• Minehead Youth Club will receive £3,770.
• Stogursey Youth Club will receive £3,800.
• Williton Youth Club will receive £3,710.
