COLLEGE NEWS: It’s the Real Deal with Somerset’s Seth Dellow!

A SOMERSET student appears on a montage to promote the forthcoming new series of Dickinson’s Real Deal TV show.

Seth Dellow – an avid fan of the highly-tanned TV show presenter David Dickinson - took a trip up to Swindon back in May with some Beswick Corgi dogs he had collected to see if they were worth any money.

“I wasn’t planning on trying to get on the TV,” said Seth who left Holyrood Academy in Chard earlier this year and is now a student at Richard Huish College in Taunton.

But Seth, who would love to go on and work in TV as a gameshow presenter, could not resist the temptation of getting in front of the camera with show host David Dickenson.

The short montage of the forthcoming show has been appearing on social media and the clip including Seth comes early on – click on the link above to watch it.

Seth has been told that the programme featuring him on Dickinson’s Real Deal should be screened on Monday (January 2, 2017) at 3.45pm on ITV.

“I’ve been told that will the programme I’m in, but if not, I’m sure people will enjoy it anyway,” he said.

More of Seth can be found on YouTube where he has made a number of short films on the Seth Lucan Channel which can also be found on Facebook.

Dickinson’s Real Deal centres around people going along with their antiques and valuables and either doing a cash deal with a dealer or choosing to sell at auction instead – with David Dickinson on hand to give out advice.COLLEGE NEWS: It’s the Real Deal with Somerset’s Seth Dellow!

Seth was featured on Chard Press back in February earlier this year when he turned his own medical problem into an actual history learning project for his fellow students at Holyrood Academy.

In September 2015 he had an operation to remove a cyst in his neck which he described as “nasty and very unpleasant” and left him with a large scar.

He was diagnosed with having the cyst in March 2015 and although benign he had to wait seven months before having it removed by which time it had grown to the size of a Ferrero Rocher chocolate.

Seth had become so used to the cyst – although it was persistently troublesome – he actually named it “Simon the Cyst.”

But Seth took things a step further and thought he could turn his journey with “Simon” into something positive – by using it to explain medical history through time.

“The history department at Holyrood allowed me to create my own “billboard” in which I go through different ages in history with my cyst and how the different time periods would have dealt with it,” he said.

The billboard starts in pre-history and then goes on an amazing journey through Egyptian, Greek, Roman, the Eastern and Western Middle Ages, the Renaissance, 1750-1900 period and then the 20th Century.

But equally as important, said Seth, is that he hopes the board will give confidence to other students in the future not to feel embarrassed and shy if they have a medical problem.
