YEOVIL NEWS: Family would dearly love to have sentimental jewellery returned

A LARGE amount of jewellery with huge sentimental value to the owners has been stolen during a burglary at a home in Yeovil.

Police are now appealing for information into the incident which happened near Roping Road sometime between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday (August 29, 2016).

A man was seen hanging around on Roping Path on Sunday, August 28, 2016, potentially drinking from a can. Did you see anyone in the area?

A large amount of jewellery and Christening items were taken, which have great sentimental value to the owners.
It is likely to be offered for sale in Somerset or via the internet. Has anyone offered you anything or have you seen any similar items for sale?

The items included:
• Christening items including a set of silver spoons in a blue box and three children's silver bracelets.
• Gold locket.
• Gold necklace with a pendent shaped like Africa.

• Diamond engagement ring.
• Engagement ring with opal stone.
• Eternity ring with sapphire and diamonds.
• TSSOT gold watch.
• Gold bracelet watch.
• Titanium watch.
• Two crucifix necklaces, one with a silver chain and one leather strap.
• Pendant saying no.1 mum.
• A small boat ornament.
• Silver charm bracelet with numerous charms.
• Silver and red block necklace - heavy set.
• Silver bracelet.

PC Jim Card, of Yeovil Police, said: “The items taken are not of great financial value but are of great sentimental value to the family. They would love to get them back.

“Being burgled is traumatic and unsettling for victims, their family and neighbours. For many, the emotional impact lasts much longer than the time it takes to tidy up and replace belongings and when they are sentimental items as they are in this case, sometimes that’s not always possible.”
