ILMINSTER NEWS: Bike-mad Ciaran thanks Good Samaritan

AN ILMINSTER schoolboy has presented a Good Samaritan with a box of chocolates after she found and returned his stolen bicycle.
Ciaran McKenzie, nine, who will be starting at Swanmead School in September, was left devastated last week when he discovered that his bike had been stolen from outside his home.
His mum Yvette Gale made an appeal on social media for anyone who might be able to help them locate his bike.
The bike had been bought for him as a Christmas present and although Ciaran normally makes sure it is locked up and put in a garage at night, he forgot to do so last Monday (August 22, 2016) and by the time he had realised the following morning it had gone.
But it was not long after Yvette’s appeal on Facebook that she was able to share the good news with Ciaran that his bike had been found.
“It was dumped on the end of our road and picked up by a lady,” she said. “It’s a huge relief and it has restored my faith in humanity and Ciaran has definitely learnt a life lesson the hard way – make sure you lock your bike up at night!
“We have taken a box of chocolates round to the lady as a way of saying thank you.”
