SOMERSET NEWS: Woman and two young children seriously injured

A WOMAN and two young children suffered serious injuries this afternoon (Friday, August 26, 2016) after being hit by a car.
Police are appealing for information to the serious road traffic collision which took place shortly before 5.20pm on Coast Road at the Unity Farm Holiday Centre in Berrow, near Burnham-on-Sea.
A police spokesman said: “A car was in a collision with a woman and two young children.
“All three have sustained serious injuries. The woman has been airlifted to Southmead Hospital and the two children have been airlifted to Bristol Children’s Hospital.”
A number of roads were closed while police enquiries continued - these included Coast Road, South Road, Coat Road and Hurn Lane.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police immediately on 101 and quote log number 879 of today (August 26, 2016).
