ILMINSTER NEWS: Scarecrows galore in the town

THE Cygnet Pre-School were named winners of the Scarecrow Competition held over the weekend as part of the Ilminster Midsummer Experience festivities.
There were a number of scarecrows dotted around the town and a map was produced to allow people to go and search them out.
The competition was organised by Ilminster Town Council and awarded prizes to the value of £30, £20 and £15 for first, second and third places.
Cygnet Pre-School took first prize with their flowerpot man inspired scarecrow named Mr Allotment, while second were Greenfylde First School with an entry based around this summer’s Olympics and third was three-year-old Hannah from Fairfield with her happy scarecrow.
Organisers would like to congratulate the winners and all those who took part in the competition.
