ILMINSTER NEWS: Chemical plant fire at Daido

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night (Saturday, May 7, 2016) to deal with a fire at factory premises in Ilminster.
The alarm was raised at 7.20pm to the problem at the Daido Industrial Bearings Ltd premises in Winterhay Lane.
Fire engines from Ilminster and Chard were initially mobilised, but further support was requested from Taunton and Crewkerne and an incident command unit from Honiton.
More firefighters arrived from Axminster and officers confirmed the incident involved a fire in a chemical plant.
By 10.15pm the fire had been out.
“The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental,” said a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
