CARNIVAL: Ilminster Carnival Souvenir Newspaper available NOW for FREE!

WELCOME to the very first Ilminster Carnival Souvenir Newspaper produced by the Ilminster Press news, sport and leisure website.

The 16-page FREE colour newspaper is packed with photos, results and news from the Ilminster Children’s Carnival on Saturday, September 30, 2017, and the main Ilminster Carnival itself on Saturday, October 7,2017.

The newspaper is available for people to pick-up for FREE in Tesco Ilminster, the Ilminster Co-Op store and the McColls store in the centre of town, while there are a limited number in Cottage Flowers.

Carnival is a wonderful tradition that is enjoyed each year by thousands of people who line the streets of Ilminster to watch the procession of floats, masqueraders, musicians and majorettes pass by.

Congratulations go to all the participants in this year’s parades in Ilminster and well done to those who won prizes.

Congratulations also to the extremely hard-working members of the Ilminster Carnival Committee who pull out all the stops to ensure that the town has a Carnival parade and to those who volunteer on the day to help out.

The Ilminster Carnival Souvenir Newspaper might not fully do the processions justice, but it might keep alive some memories from this year’s parades.

Steve Sowden, of Ilminster Press, said: “I would like to thank all of the businesses and organisations who have advertised in this publication – Grinters, Chudley International, Ham Hill Cider, Kingfisher Carpets, Ilminster Sports Club & the Archie Gooch Pavilion, Minster Electrical Contractors, Cottage Flowers, Hazelwell Lodge, Ilminster Home Hardware, Prima Moda Brides, Hannah May Hair Studio, Broomhead & Saul, Bonners the Butchers, and Harrimans Menswear.”

If any business or organisation would like to advertise in the 2018 Ilminster Carnival Souvenir Newspaper then please get in touch by emailing ilminsterpress@gmail.com .

Steve added: “I would like to thank James Healey, of JRH Media, and Wincanton Print for their support and help in putting this publication together along with freelance photographer Christine Jones for all her great photos of the two Ilminster Carnivals.”
