CARNIVAL: Eclipse is improving all the time

CARNIVAL: Eclipse is improving all the time

THE Eclipse Carnival Club is really beginning to close the gap on its rivals on the South Somerset circuit.CARNIVAL: Eclipse is improving all the time Photo 6

The Chard-based club, although still only a new group in relation to its big heavyweight rivals down the road at Ilminster, is coming on leaps and bounds with its entries each year.

It may still be a few years yet before it is wrestling awards and crowns from the likes of Harlequin CC and Gemini CC, but Eclipse is definitely moving in the right direction.

And that can only mean good news for Carnival as a whole locally because it will certainly help to keep the Big Two on their toes and a third club vying for glory will add extra spice to the processions.

Eclipse came second in the feature class last night (Saturday, October 1, 2016) with its Loggers Yard cart at Ilminster Carnival behind the ever-impressive Harlequin and its Underground Express entry.

But Eclipse will be looking to do well on its home turf next weekend when the Carnival cavalcade arrives in Chard for its annual parade on Saturday (October 8, 2016).
