IN PHOTOS: Great night at South Petherton Carnival

THE crowds came out once again at the weekend for the annual Carnival procession in South Petherton.

The wonders of Carnival returned to South Petherton on Saturday (September 10, 2016) for the ever-popular parade.

There were pirates and Indians, Smurfs, superheroes, Olympic favourites and even a Mad Hatter – among others  - to entertain the crowds lining the streets of Petherton.

Carnival chairman Andrea Clifford said: “It was a great Carnival and we’d like to thank everyone who took part and all those who came out to support.”

At the head of the parade was Carnival Princess, Angel Chant, and Carnival Prince, Max Daley.

Bournemouth Carnival Band entertained the crowds, while there was also entertainment provided by The Desert Divas.

Organisers would like to thank sponsors South Petherton Parish Council, Protexin Ltd, Branston Potatoes Ltd, NatWest and all the businesses in South Petherton and surrounding area for their continued support along with the local emergency services.

Results: Carnival Design Competition: Winner – Carnival Princess, Angel Chant; Winner – Carnival Prince, Max Daley.
