BUSINESS: Ilminster Fairtrade urges local businesses to enter SW Fairtrade Business Awards 2018

THE Ilminster Fairtrade organisation is urging local businesses to enter the South West Fairtrade Business Awards 2018.

Entries to the South West Fairtrade Business Awards 2018 close at midnight on February 11, 2018, and Ilminster Fairtrade is hopeful that local organisations will consider submitting an application this year.

The South West Fairtrade Business Awards, now in its sixth year, engage organisations to increase take-up and support of Fairtrade in the region, promoting organisations who support Fairtrade and encouraging good practice amongst others.

Each year organisations across the region are invited to enter the awards, and celebrate their achievements in an annual ceremony as part of Fairtrade Fortnight which this year runs from February 26 to March 11.

The awards are open to everyone from national chains to sole traders, universities to hotels, food producers and cafés. 

Categories include Best Fairtrade Office, Best Fairtrade Retailer –single product, Best Fairtrade Retailer – multiple products, Best Fairtrade Café or Restaurant, Best Fairtrade Product, Best Fairtrade Accommodation or Conference Centre.

There is also a category for Fairtrade Advocate, which has no level attributed to the award and can be self-nominated or nominated by a third party.
