JOBS: Chef and catering manager wanted for Westlands Yeovil and Octagon Theatre

AN EXCITING opportunity has arisen for somebody to become the chef and catering manager of the stunningly refurbished Westlands Yeovil business, conference and entertainment venue and the Octagon Theatre.

These leading venues offer a variety of superb spaces for meetings, conferences, training events, trade fairs, exhibitions, civic events, parties, social functions, product launches and live performances.

Both Westlands Yeovil, which is scheduled to reopen in March 2017 following an extensive refurbishment, and the Octagon Theatre are both run by South Somerset District Council.

A council spokesman said: “We are looking for a passionate and talented Chef and Catering Manager to lead the catering operation across both venues.

“The successful candidate will have experience of leading a large catering team to successfully deliver large scale catering events with delicious food and superb service served within agreed timescales.

“From delivering multi-course banquets for up to 350 people, to buffet lunches for up to 900 people or serving 130 customers in our busy theatre café bar, our catering offer is diverse and challenging.

“Excellent knowledge of food hygiene is essential in addition to leading, motivating and managing the team to deliver exceptional food and service.”

Closing date for applications is midday on January 27, 2017, and interviews will be held on February 2, 2017.
